Ballet

BalletBallet is the art of dance requiring strength, resilience, elegance and grace all at once. Ballet can be studied at any age. Ballet technique is considered to be the basis of training for all types of dance.

Children Ballet

Children’s Ballet program is designed to open to the young child using movement, creativity, socialization, and musical awareness. The program is designed to develop basic vocabulary, musicality and coordination to give children the skills for entrance into the Intensive Division of the Dance Program.

Classical Ballet

Classical ballet is the most methodical of the ballet styles; it adheres to traditional ballet technique to these rules:
  • Everything is turned out.
  • When the feet are not on the floor, they're pointed.
  • When the leg is not bent, it's stretched completely.
  • Posture, alignment, and placement are vital.
Contemporary Ballet

Contemporary ballet is a form of dance influenced by both classical ballet and modern dance. It takes its technique and use of pointe work from classical ballet, although it permits a greater range of movement that may not adhere to the strict body lines set forth by schools of ballet technique. Many of its concepts come from the ideas and innovations of modern dance, including floor work and turn-in of the legs.
